Biography
Elisabeth Carniel (MD, PhD) is Professor at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. As head of the Yersinia Research Unit, she supervises a team working on bacterial evolution, pathogenesis and host-bacteria interactions. As Director of the National Reference Laboratory for plague and other yersiniosis, she is involved in public health and surveillance activities at the national level. She also has international activities, as Director of the WHO Collaborating Center of Reference and Research for Yersinia and as Scientific Advisor at the Institut Pasteur in Cote d'Ivoire.
